Introduction to English Castles
divider

Welcome to my section on English castles which were built by the Anglo/Norman from 1066 onward in an attempt to force my nation into submission, by the year 1400 it seemed as through that aim had been achieved.

Then in the Autumn of that same year one man led Welshmen on one last bid to throw off the yoke of suppression. For a few years it seemed that he would achieve his dream. The Man? Owain Glyndwr! ( see The Princes ) Alas the dream was not to be.
